Yea, We had a series of lightning storms in my hometown in west Texas, and I went out with the fire dept. to keep an eye out and took my camera along. Got a few great shots! Thanks for the comments!

This is my favorite of your lightning shots. Man did you really get the perfect exposure on this one. You caught tons of branching and I love how long that one bolt is. What lense are you shooting with these days, it's pretty dang sharp. I like how the lense was closing or opening right as the long bolt was striking, that way it's not too intense and so that part of the flash channel is really bright and the rest is kind of toned down. Others out in the cities just don't get to see all the fun atmospheric things we do out in west texas, huh? Nice man

Ah! After looking at your lightning shots, hearing that from you makes me feel like a million bucks! This was shot with a Quantaray 18-125mm F/3.5-4, manually focused prior to the picture to slightly further than the telephone poles, the clarity, in all reality, was also a bit of luck! Im glad that this one turned out a little better than the other, not as grainy, and like you said, much better exposure. And youre right, West Texas ROCKS! Thanks again man!

Well they look really good man, especially compared to mine on computer. They just don't have the same punch after they get scanned, or even when you have them put on cd at developing, they just don't quite look as good as they do on film or as good as yours do strictly shot on digital. That lense is pretty sharp man, I was expecting you to tell me it was something else, lol. You did VERY good in focusing it and making it sharp, oh and trust me, with this stuff and how little light you get, it usually is just luck for everybody. This one is a very good lightning shot, and I know you'll get really good really fast at this. Heck yeah buddy, West Texas rocks :).
